On April 20, 2016, the lives of 19-year-old Ariel Bojorquez and his 17-year-old girlfriend, Rosa Isela Chavez, were tragically cut short in a senseless act of violence in San Bernardino, California. Ariel, a recent high school graduate, aspired to join the military, while Rosa, a senior at Arroyo Valley High School, was an exemplary student eagerly anticipating her upcoming graduation and college enrollment. Their future together seemed bright and full of promise.
The Fatal Car-to-Car Shooting
That fateful afternoon, Ariel and Rosa were driving through a quiet neighborhood near 29th Street and Pershing Avenue when a white, four-door sedan pulled alongside their 1999 Honda. Without warning, someone from the adjacent vehicle opened fire, striking both teenagers. The assault caused Ariel to lose control of the car, which then crashed into the yard of a nearby home.
