On the evening of May 13, 2015, the Roseland neighborhood of Chicago was shaken by a devastating act of violence. Three 19-year-old men were seated in a parked vehicle near 107th and Wentworth when another car approached. Without warning, someone from the second vehicle opened fire, resulting in a tragic loss of life.
Victims of the Shooting: Lives Interrupted
The shooting claimed the lives of two young men: Shamari Salter and Terrance Canady. Salter was pronounced dead at the scene, having suffered a fatal gunshot wound to the head. Canady, who was struck in the head and abdomen, was rushed to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn.
