A Fateful Encounter at a Denver Liquor Store

On the evening of January 11, 2010, 19-year-old DeShon Duane Lee and his friend, 21-year-old Lonell Franklin, visited a local liquor store at the intersection of Bruce Randolph Avenue and York Street in Denver, Colorado. What began as a routine stop quickly escalated into a verbal altercation with an unidentified individual inside the store. The details of the dispute remain unclear, but this confrontation set off a chain of events that would culminate in a tragic loss of life.

The Drive and Deadly Encounter

After the altercation, DeShon and Lonell left the liquor store, accompanied by a young woman whose identity has not been publicly disclosed. As they traveled eastbound on Martin Luther King Boulevard, they approached the intersection at Steele Street around 11:00 PM.
