A Promising Life Cut Short

Damon Ward, a 33-year-old architect from Arlington, was known for his dedication to his craft and his vibrant presence among friends and family. On the night of February 26, 2006, Damon joined his friends on U Street in Washington, D.C., to celebrate a birthday. The lively atmosphere of the area, especially near the iconic Ben's Chili Bowl, was a testament to the city's rich culture and nightlife.

The Fateful Incident

In the early hours, around 2:54 a.m., an altercation erupted between two groups over a parking space near 1208 U Street, NW. The dispute escalated rapidly, culminating in one individual drawing a firearm and discharging multiple rounds.
