On November 25, 2015, the day before Thanksgiving, the Louisville community was shaken by the tragic death of 39-year-old Paysor Dante' Casey Escobar. His lifeless body was discovered outside an apartment complex near Churchill Downs, marking him as the city's 72nd homicide victim that year. This incident initiated a harrowing four-day period during which five individuals lost their lives to violence.
A Mother's Heartache
Lavon Casey, Paysor's mother, was at home when three police officers arrived to deliver the devastating news. Anticipating such a fate for her son, she was nonetheless unprepared for its sudden arrival. Reflecting on his life, Lavon recounted how Paysor had been a good child but became entangled in drugs at the age of 17. Despite her efforts, she couldn't steer him away from this perilous path.
