A Mother's Day Gathering Turns Fatal

On the morning of Sunday, May 14, 2017, Mother's Day, a small gathering took place at a residence on the 3400 block of Boise Avenue in Birmingham, Alabama. Among the attendees was 32-year-old Tyler Griffin, who joined friends to celebrate the occasion. The atmosphere was congenial until an unexpected altercation erupted between Tyler and another individual present at the gathering.

The Fatal Altercation

The disagreement escalated rapidly, leading the unidentified suspect to brandish a firearm. As tensions peaked, Tyler attempted to distance himself from the confrontation, turning to flee. Tragically, the assailant fired multiple shots, striking Tyler in the back as he ran. The gunman then fled the scene, leaving chaos and confusion in his wake.
