A Promising Young Life Ends Tragically

On the evening of December 30, 2019, the vibrant life of 21-year-old Jibri West was abruptly and violently ended. At approximately 9:15 PM, in the 600 block of M Street, Northeast Washington, D.C., Jibri was found unconscious and unresponsive, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Despite the prompt response from DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services, who transported him to a nearby hospital, all life-saving efforts failed, and Jibri was pronounced dead shortly thereafter.

The Immediate Aftermath and Community Response

The news of Jibri's untimely death sent shockwaves through his community. Friends, family, and neighbors were left grappling with the senselessness of the violence that claimed a young man known for his loving and hardworking nature.
