He was found dead at 4600 Shepard Parkway, SW, a location nestled in the Bellevue neighborhood of Washington, D.C. The circumstances surrounding his death were, and remain, shrouded in mystery. In the days following Benson's murder, the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) of the District of Columbia launched an intensive investigation.
