A Tragic Night in Anchorage

In the early hours of August 25, 2018, the Anchorage Police Department received a distress call reporting a disturbance at an apartment complex on the 3500 block of West 88th Avenue. Responding officers arrived at approximately 2:30 a.m. and, upon entering one of the units, discovered the lifeless body of 37-year-old Kevin Andrew Napier. He had suffered a fatal gunshot wound to the upper body. The immediate aftermath saw several individuals detained for questioning; however, no arrests were made. The case was promptly classified as a homicide, initiating an intensive investigation into the circumstances surrounding Napier's untimely death.

The Mysterious Theft and Arson

Compounding the tragedy, it was discovered that Napier's personal vehicle, a blue 2006 Dodge Dakota pickup truck, had been stolen from the scene. Three days later, on August 28, authorities located the vehicle abandoned and engulfed in flames off Hiland Road in the Eagle River area.
