Marcy Jo Andrews, a 24-year-old woman from Chicago, disappeared on February 14, 1984. She had spent Valentine's Day with two friends at an apartment belonging to Casey Nowicki, a man she had met that day. After an evening of socializing, Nowicki offered to drive Andrews and her friends home. On the way, they were involved in a minor car accident that injured Andrews’ ankle.
