A Tragic Night in the Western Addition
On the night of August 1, 2015, the Western Addition neighborhood of San Francisco was rocked by a senseless act of violence. Nineteen-year-old Ranisha Monique Raven was standing with friends near the intersection of Buchanan Street and Larch Way when gunfire erupted. The assailants unleashed a barrage of bullets, striking Raven in the abdomen and wounding a 16-year-old girl and a 33-year-old man in the legs. Despite being rushed to San Francisco General Hospital, Raven succumbed to her injuries before arrival. The other victims survived their wounds.
A Vibrant Life Cut Short
Ranisha Raven was a young woman full of promise and creativity. Born and raised in San Francisco, she had a passion for fashion and a keen eye for style. Her aunt, Shannon Watts, described her as "bright and outgoing, very social," emphasizing her deep love for family and close friends.
