In 1998 an unidentified human cranium was transferred from law enforcement to the OCME. According to a previous officer, the cranium had been found prior to 1959-1960 (hence the DBF entered). It was subsequently stored in the closet of the county jail. Once law enforcement notified OCME of the cranium, it was turned over as evidence to the OCME and stored after undergoing DNA and forensic anthropology exams.
