On 27 July 1988 at about 0200 hours, the decedent was observed crossing the street of Rainier Ave S and S Dawson and was struck by a hit-and-run driver. The decedent was admitted to Harborview Medical Center in critical condition and was in a coma for three months until pronounced dead.
