On 4/20/25 the Battalion Search and Rescue (BSAR) group were out in the Santa Teresa desert between Highway 9 and Strauss Road when they came across what appeared to be scattered skeletal human remains. They reported this to the Dona Ana County Sheriff's Office (DASO) and provided coordinates to the remains.
