A trunk was received at the Railway Express Agency from the Newark Railway Express terminal, Newark, New Jersey. It was sent by a white female approximately 55 years in age. Railway Express explained that they had picked up the trunk from the Belmont Hotel, Newark, New Jersey. Railway Express workers noticed a very foul odor coming from the trunk and when it was opened they found the subject inside.
