Human skeletal remains were discovered in a roadside ditch 1/2 mile east of Correctionville, Iowa in Woodbury County on August 30, 1988. The remains were determined to be those of a white male with an estimated age range between 30 to 60 years. The remains were estimated to measure 5 feet and 6 inches in height. It is also estimated that the decedent died sometime between the years 1971 and 1973.
