On September 23, 2021, the body of Nelson Souto was discovered in Fall River, Massachusetts. The Massachusetts State Police received a call from a building manager concerned about an employee who had neither shown up for work nor called in, as expected. Responding to this concern, officers conducted a well-being check at the location and tragically found Nelson Souto deceased.
