On November 29, 2021, authorities discovered the body of an unidentified male, later determined to be Santiago Giron-Bautista, in Queens, New York. Despite efforts to trace his identity and contact any next of kin, he remains an unclaimed person, as shown by the National Missing and Unidentified Persons System (NamUs) with the ID UCP87461. This case represents one of the many challenges that medical examiners face when the deceased’s background and connections are difficult to ascertain.
