On November 21, 2016, the body of a female identified as Elizabeth Grieco was discovered in Knoxville, Tennessee. Despite efforts to find her next of kin, Elizabeth’s case highlighted the challenges that can arise when a deceased person is left unclaimed. With no relatives able to assume responsibility for funeral arrangements, the situation necessitated the involvement of county services.
