On January 5, 2020, the body of Donald Lee Grant, a 71-year-old Black male, was discovered on a sidewalk by a passerby. The location of the discovery was concerningly public, directly in front of the Atlanta Police Headquarters at 226 Peachtree Street SW in Atlanta, Georgia. Despite being found in such a central area, Donald Lee Grant was reported to have been homeless at the time of his passing, an unfortunate circumstance shared by many who remain unclaimed after death.
