The Pierce County Medical Examiner's Office (PCMEO), located in Tacoma, Washington, took responsibility for the case and conducted an extensive search for any possible relatives. Despite their efforts, they were unsuccessful in locating any family members. Consequently, Todd Brown's body was sent to a rotation funeral home where he was subsequently cremated. The cremains were then returned to the care of the PCMEO.
It was discovered that Todd Brown was a veteran eligible for burial at the Tahoma National Cemetery. In alignment with this eligibility, the PCMEO released his cremains to the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) for a proper burial. This final arrangement was made on March 14, 2019, ensuring that Todd Brown was laid to rest with the dignity and respect afforded to those who have served in the military.
