On January 20, 2019, the body of a 62-year-old man named Kolenekeo C. Darwin Kaeo was discovered at the Heartwood Skilled Nursing Facility in Tacoma, Washington. This long-term care facility had been providing hospice services to Kaeo, who was under their care. On that particular day, the nursing staff found him unresponsive during their normal rounds. Despite their efforts, the medical team could not revive him, and he was subsequently pronounced dead.
