On October 9, 2019, the body of Michael A. Stephens was discovered by the infirmary nurse on duty in Aiea, Hawaii. His passing was promptly pronounced upon discovery. Prior to this, Stephens had been recently admitted to a local hospital, within the week before his death, due to symptoms related to his illness. Subsequently, he had been transitioned to hospice care, indicating a severe progression of his condition.
