On August 7, 2015, a woman identified as Joyce-Ester Wicklund was found deceased in Boise, Idaho. Despite efforts by the authorities, no next of kin was located for Ms. Wicklund. Her cause of death was determined to be due to deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and pulmonary embolism (PE) while she was in hospital care. She remained unclaimed and without family to oversee her final affairs, placing her case in the hands of local authorities.
