On June 16, 2016, a welfare check was conducted at a residence in El Paso, Texas, resulting in the discovery of a deceased individual identified as Henry None Sousa. The welfare check had been requested by his former sister-in-law, who expressed concern due to an extended period without contact. The ensuing investigation determined that Henry Sousa had no known surviving family members to notify or claim his remains.
