On February 21, 2017, a welfare check was initiated by Ricky Edwin Creek's VA counselor after Mr. Creek missed a scheduled session. The Atlanta Police responded to the call and arrived at Mr. Creek’s residence in Atlanta, Georgia. Upon entering his locked apartment, they discovered the unresponsive body of Mr. Creek, marking the beginning of a poignant case handled by the Fulton County Medical Examiner's Office.
