On January 4, 1998, in the bustling Bronx neighborhood of New York City, an unknown homeless man, later identified by the moniker "Leon," was discovered deceased. This unfortunate finding unfolded at 1908 Belmont Avenue, where Leon had been seen lying on the lobby floor for the majority of the day. A tenant of the building, moved by Leon's situation, invited him into his apartment to offer a place to clean up and rest.
