On June 12, 2024, authorities were alerted to the residence of Yang Kang Brannon, an unclaimed female, following a welfare check request by her neighbor who had lost contact with her since June 9, 2024. The Los Angeles Fire Department, assisted by building security, accessed Brannon's apartment where they found her unresponsive body.
