On October 12, 2022, the body of Angel Bermeo, an 85-year-old male, was discovered at Loma Linda University Medical Center (LLUMC) in Loma Linda, California. Despite passing away under the care of medical professionals at the facility, his remains went unclaimed. With no next of kin discovered or individuals coming forward to claim his body, LLUMC sought permission for indigent cremation as a resolution to this unfortunate and lonely circumstance.
