On June 24, 2021, an unsettling discovery was made by employees working for the Hidalgo County Irrigation District 6. In the waters of a district lake located at 934 East Expressway 83 in La Joya, Hidalgo County, Texas, the decomposed body of an unidentified male was found. The body, later assigned Namus ID: UCP88438, was fully clothed yet lacking any form of identification, which has complicated efforts to determine the identity of the deceased.
