In early March of 2022, the Stockton Police Department was called to a local hotel following the discovery of an unresponsive male guest, later identified as 55-year-old Norman Richard Oppliger. The hotel manager had found Mr. Oppliger in his room, lying unresponsive in his bed. Upon arrival, the authorities noted that the body was in the moderate stages of decomposition, suggesting that some time had passed since his death.
