On June 25, 2022, the body of 64-year-old John Wesley Harbottle was discovered at an independent living facility in El Cajon, California. A resident at this facility, Harbottle was a White male with a status of widowed, and he shared the residence with several roommates. The discovery was made in the late morning hours when one of his roommates found him slumped on a bench located at the front porch.
