On July 28, 2022, the body of Ronald Ray Smith was discovered in his Hoquiam, Washington home by a social services worker conducting a welfare check. The discovery brought an end to concerns regarding Mr. Smith's well-being, confirming he had passed away due to natural causes. Mr. Smith's case, however, took a different turn as efforts to claim his body remained unsuccessful, leading to his classification as an unclaimed person.
