On November 16, 2022, a body was discovered in Dallas, Texas, and later identified as that of Matthew Smith. Despite the identification, Matthew remains an unclaimed person as authorities continue their efforts to locate his next of kin. As of now, no relatives have come forward to claim him, which has left the case open and unresolved.
