On April 2, 2016, the body of an unclaimed individual identified as Richard Clint Byrd was discovered at the Linda Valley Care Center in Loma Linda, California. Despite being in a medical facility, Richard Byrd's existence and subsequent passing went unnoticed by friends or family who might have claimed him.
