On June 14, 2022, a quiet morning in Aurora, Missouri, was shattered by a tragic sequence of events at a residence on the 1600 block of Oak Drive. Police officers were dispatched to the home shortly after receiving a distress call around 8:00 a.m. The call had been placed by a concerned neighbor who had just spoken with the homeowner, John Proudfoot.
