Bobby Ray Moore Sr., a retired homicide detective from Washington, D.C., and the Town Marshal of Fremont, Indiana, was tragically shot and killed on July 26, 1988, at the age of 50. Moore was returning home and entering the side entrance of his residence when he was fatally shot by an unknown assailant using a .30-06 rifle. The incident occurred at 10:25 p.m., and despite extensive investigations, no suspects have ever been apprehended, leaving the case unsolved.
