Colonel Robert G. Black, a 40-year-old officer with the Rocky Ripple Police Department, tragically lost his life on February 20, 1997. Colonel Black, along with Sergeant Bryan Northern, was working private security at an apartment complex located at 4183 Edgemere Court in Indianapolis when the incident occurred.
