On March 2, 2009, 55-year-old Pamela Payne-Bennett of Parkland, Florida, was found deceased at the Hammond Marina in Lake County, Indiana. She had sustained multiple gunshot wounds to her torso. Alongside her, 39-year-old Calvin Douchee of Cary, Mississippi, was discovered inside a submerged black Hummer H2 with Florida license plates; he had been shot twice in the chest. A revolver was recovered from the vehicle.
