In the summer of 2014, the Carmel, Indiana community was shaken by the tragic death of Shannon O’Malia Hall, a 40-year-old White/Caucasian female. A beloved second-grade teacher at St. Louis de Montfort Catholic School in Fishers, she was known for her dedication to her students and her warm presence within the school community. Her life was abruptly cut short on the evening of July 27, 2014, in a devastating act of violence that unfolded in the presumed safety of her parents' home.
