In the late autumn of 2015, the community of Berne, Indiana, mourned the loss of Devin L. Hirschy, a 29-year-old man who passed away on Saturday, October 31, 2015. Born in Adams County on June 12, 1986, to Kevin and Dorene Hirschy, Devin was a lifelong resident of the area and an employee of FCC Adams. He was a married man, having wed Heather Dorion on May 25, 2005, and was a father to two sons, Jessey and Jerry, and a daughter, Zoey.
A member of Peace Lutheran Church, Devin was remembered by his family, including his parents, wife, and children, as well as a brother, Owen Hirschy, and his grandparents. His passing was preceded by the death of his brother, Kelvin Hirschy, earlier that same year. In the wake of their loss, the family requested that any memorials be made in care of his wife, Heather.
Arrangements for a private memorial service to be held at a later date were handled by Haggard-Sefton & Hirschy Funeral Home in Decatur. Publicly available information regarding the circumstances of his death does not indicate any arrests or the involvement of any suspects.
