In the summer of 2016, a promising young life was cut tragically short on the streets of Indianapolis. Theothus 'Man-Man' Carter, Jr., a 16-year-old male, was fatally wounded on the night of August 13, 2016. The incident occurred at a Conoco gas station in the city, where he was shot. His death left a void in the lives of his family and friends, who gathered to celebrate his life later that month at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church before he was laid to rest at Sutherland Park Cemetery.
