In the quiet town of Noblesville, Indiana, a tragedy unfolded on a December afternoon, forever altering the lives of those who knew Kristin Peak Tomalia. On December 17, 2020, police were called to a home on Plains Road around 1:30 p.m. for a report of a shooting. Inside, they discovered 37-year-old Kristin and her husband, 43-year-old Rene C. Tomalia, both suffering from severe gunshot wounds in an upstairs room of the residence.
Emergency responders provided immediate medical care and
transported the couple to separate Indianapolis hospitals. Despite the efforts of medical professionals, both Kristin and Rene succumbed to their injuries shortly after their arrival.
