In the early morning hours of Thursday, October 7, 2021, a burst of violence in Hammond, Indiana, tragically cut short the life of 26-year-old Danniel Gamez of East Chicago. Officers were dispatched to the 700 block of Locust Street around 3:35 a.m. following reports of gunfire. Upon their arrival, they discovered a grim scene with two men deceased from gunshot wounds.
