Trooper Charles Eugene 'Gene' Morris, a dedicated officer with the Virginia State Police, tragically lost his life on March 2, 1962, at the age of 30. Trooper Morris was assisting deputies in Patrick County, near Stuart, Virginia, at the scene of a domestic disturbance.
