Richard Newland, a 19-year-old from Tysons Corner, VA, tragically lost his life on March 26, 1970. His death was a result of a violent encounter with the Pagan motorcycle gang. The incident began when Newland, along with another young man named Lewis Hartless, got into a confrontation with members of the Pagan gang. Newland had reportedly won a fight against a member of the gang, which led to a brutal act of retaliation.
