Sergeant Donald C. Benson Sr., a dedicated deputy sheriff with the Lancaster County Sheriff's Office, tragically lost his life in the line of duty on November 5, 1981. At the age of 34, Sergeant Benson was responding to a domestic dispute when he was fatally shot.
