Scott Allen Hylton, a 43-year-old patrol officer with the Christiansburg Police Department, tragically lost his life on May 9, 2003, while responding to a shoplifting call at a local gas station on Roanoke Street in Christiansburg, Virginia. Officer Hylton, a 20-year veteran of law enforcement, had only been with the Christiansburg Police Department for about a year at the time of his death.
