Gary Jonathan Buro, a 34-year-old police officer with the Chesterfield County Police Department, tragically lost his life on May 4, 2006, in Ettrick, Virginia. Officer Buro was responding to a domestic dispute at 3701 Totty Street when he was fatally shot. As he and another officer entered the residence, the male suspect immediately opened fire, resulting in Officer Buro's death and wounding his partner. Despite being shot five times, Buro's partner managed to return fire and kill the suspect.
