Sansford Ray Semones, a 50-year-old resident of Fancy Gap, Carroll County, Virginia, tragically passed away on January 1, 2013. His death was the result of a hunting accident. According to reports, Semones was mistakenly shot by his 13-year-old son while they were deer hunting on private property in Carroll County. The incident occurred when the teenager mistook his father for a deer and fired a .50-caliber muzzleloader from approximately 150 yards away.
